Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)
Contract: 13 weeks from start date (with possible extension to 6 months)
The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery (L&D) is responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians, and providing comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting patient care, while ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Develop and coordinate individualized care plans through initial and ongoing assessments.
Initiate assessments based on patient problems, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.
Document care based on standards of care, practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
Advocate for evidence-based practice and support adoption of innovations in care delivery.
Provide patient-centered care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Labor & Delivery.
Experience with couplet care strongly preferred.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Active NJ State RN license or multi-state compact license.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Preferred Certifications:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Advanced AWHONN or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
