Position Summary The Battery Truck Operator is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery and pick-up of automotive batteries and cores to and from customer locations and distribution centers. This role ensures proper handling of hazardous materials, maintains required documentation, and supports warehouse operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicle in accordance with safety protocols and DOT regulations.
- Deliver and pick up automotive batteries and battery cores from customer locations and distribution centers.
- Load and unload batteries using appropriate equipment and handling procedures.
- Accurately complete delivery documentation, including core return paperwork.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of assigned vehicle.
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and delivery timing.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with warehouse functions including loading, unloading, and inventory tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in commercial or route delivery driving.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to continuously handle batteries and materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Strong attention to safety and detail; comfortable handling hazardous materials with appropriate PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and proper documentation procedures.
- Previous experience transporting automotive batteries or similar hazardous materials.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy batteries (up to 75 lbs.)
- Work performed in a combination of warehouse and on-the-road environments
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and battery-related chemicals
Additional Requirements - Candidates must meet employment eligibility requirements as established by U.S. federal law.
