Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our team in San Ramon, California, Remotely. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial processes for a national insurance brokerage company specializing in commercial lines, personal lines, and employee benefits insurance. This is a long-term contract opportunity that offers the chance to work with cross-functional teams and enhance operational efficiency through advanced accounting practices. Responsibilities: - Process and post revenue from direct bill payments, ensuring accurate recognition of broker commission fees. - Generate and reconcile invoices which serves as both an accounting and agency management platform. - Collaborate with account teams and carriers to resolve discrepancies, ensuring all financial data is aligned. - Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and ledger reconciliations. - Utilize Excel for advanced data analysis, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. - Support the training and onboarding process to familiarize with system workflows and brokerage procedures. - Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) operations efficiently. - Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. - Analyze and interpret commission structures within the insurance industry. - Contribute to the improvement of billing functions and overall accounting processes. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably within the insurance brokerage industry. - Proficiency in agency management systems, with experience in Nexsure being a strong advantage. - Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and resolving financial discrepancies. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. - Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with account teams and carriers. - Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. - Experience with billing functions and commission reconciliation.
